Which type of wireless bra offers the best support?

Wireless bras can be just as supportive as wired bras, you just need to choose the right one. Thicker straps tend to provide greater support along with a well constructed underband (a thick elasticated band of material under the boobs). As mentioned in some of our reviews, non-wired bras that have side and back panels hold your boobs firmly in place and some are supportive enough to wear during exercise.

Discreet padding can prevent gaping and provide uplift and some wireless styles offer great support as well as giving you a bit of cleavage while still keeping the comfort levels high. Tank top style wireless bras can still provide good support if they’re double layered.

Ultimately the level of coverage and the type of fabric makes a difference to how supportive wireless bras are.

Are wireless bras suitable for all bra sizes?

Wireless bras can offer many of the same benefits as structured bras. As long as the bra comes with a comfy band and is constructed from stretchy fabric, you should be able to enjoy light support and maximum comfort. If you have bigger boobs, experts in the field Bravissimo state that you can still wear wireless bras. The main difference between wireless and underwired bras is that bras with underwire can separate and lift your boobs, giving you a rounded shape with a little more support. That said, there are supportive wireless options too and you can still enjoy a decent level of support providing the wireless bra fits you well.

Are wireless bras the same as sports bras?

Sports bras offer maximum support and hold your breasts firmly in place when working out. Most wireless bras don’t offer the same level of compression so if you’re looking for a wireless bra specifically for exercising, we’d suggest opting for one that specifies it’s a sports bra like the Calvin Klein non-wired bra we recommend in our roundup.

What is the best wireless bra to buy?

The Flexifit Non Wired Crop Top from M&S is our best buy as not only does it feel like a second skin, it receives glowing reviews for comfort and support. It’s also great value at £22 and there are a good range of sizes available. Plus, the padding is removeable, offering the ultimate flexibility.
